Vibes is Right

I'm going to get a little off topic. All for good.
I was at work today (Saturday, August 28th) and just got an overdose of optimism.
I interact with people on their vacations, so maybe this happy good time stuff is because I deal with people when they're arguably the happiest.
Regardless, I feel great.
I realize that the beauty about today is that it's a microcosm of my life. The people I work with, the people and friends I have outside of work, everything spilled over today. In the best way possible.
I see families smiling, I talk to co-workers about their families as they smile while they speak about them. They earn their money and work hard while, for some of them, their families are thousands of miles away. They work so they can see them again and not have to leave their side. They work so they can enjoy what guests in the park enjoy.
Call me a sentimental bastard, but that bring tears of joy to my eyes. Is it sad that these men and women can't be with their wives or husbands and children when they choose? Yes. But they know what they have to do. And they do it happily knowing they will see their family again.
I work and deal with funny people, good people, and odd people. Whatever is the case, they're people. The goodness within them is there. As much as I will be saddened by local/international news, or angered at traffic, the good is there. The good is there and I want to see it all the time.
I can hear some people saying that things are just going really well for me. That's the reason for all this positivity. That's true. Things are going well. They could be going better. My car is in the shop, and my career is stalled.
As much as the latter is true, it is ten-fold for the former. I have amazing friends in my life. I get to work and play with talented actors and improvisers who are awesome human beings. My family is present and supportive and loving. I am employed. I have a kick-ass dog. The list goes on.
That list will get longer soon. I guess my point is accentuating the positive. Yeah, like the song. So I'll continue to do so. I hope you do too. Even when things get really bad, when you're really down, know that people are there for you. People love you and people love to be loved. A smile goes a long way and is the most contagious non-disease out there. Spread it on!
Alright, alright, enough with the gushing, right?
OK, beloved readers, I'll stop. To sum up, grab on to that positive. Here's to eliminating the negative and not messing with Mr. In-between.
I love you all.... yeah, even you.
